
Our Story
We are a pioneering company in the peanut industry in Nicaragua with more than 30 years of history. COMASA is a Nicaraguan capital company with processing plants located in Chinandega.

1982
Miguel Zavala and Mauricio Zacarias plant the first peanut hectares, 70 and 35 respectively.

1984
The corporate commercial society is created, founded by Miguel Zavala, Mauricio Zacarias, and Juan Alvaro Munguia. The first 6 containers are exported.

1984
SEMPRO processing plant is born.

1986
The milestone of 1 container per month is reached.

2000
POSOLTEGA Processing plant is acquired.

2001
ISO 17025 certification is acquired for SERAGRO Laboratory.

2003
Blanching Plant starts its operations and 14,000 hectares are planted.

2005
HACCP certification is obtained for all processing plants.

2009
Inicia construcción de nueva planta Blanqueadora.

2010
The new Blanching Plant starts its operations.

2011
BRC Certification is obtained for all processing plants.

2011
The construction of Shelling Plant COMASA is started.

2012
Shelling Plant COMASA begins its operation.

August - Pre Cleaner Plant Construction begins.

November - Pre Cleaner Plant begins operations

May - Nutrialimento Plant commences building process

October - Nutrialimento Plant is completed

December - Beginning of works for Blanched Finished Product Warehouse

January - Beginning of Bleaching Plant Extension
