COMASA has acquired a commitment to the community. Over the years, training and awareness programs have been implemented with schools, the community and our collaborators. The objective is to maintain a clean, reforested and self-sustaining community, through different projects recycling, water treatment, reforestation, together with the collaboration of workers, civil society and public administrations, in order to improve the quality of life.

Working together, with the objective to conserve and protect the environment that involves our activities, and sustainable economic development.

Reforestation Days

COMASA develops educational environmental projects for schools in the locality of the department of Chinandega, both in primary and secondary schools, carried out with the support of our collaborators.

Today we can feel proud and satisfied to see how our projects have had a positive impact since they began in 2012. Among the achievements we can mention the sponsorship we have in the Rio Acome where several cleaning and reforestation days have been held, which have contributed to increasing the ecological flow of this river.

Recycling Programs

COMASA develops educational environmental projects for schools in the locality of the department of Chinandega, both in primary and secondary schools, carried out with the support of our collaborators.

Through interactive talks, we wanted to awaken interest and raise awareness in students about the importance of recycling as a fundamental axis, teaching them all the potential and benefits of separating waste, reusing and recycling it.

With our peanut producers we promote recycling and triple washing of phytosanitary containers on farms, thus avoiding waste in the fields.

Plant Nurseries

As part of COMASA's commitment to environmental sustainability projects, in 2012 the idea of creating its own plant nursery emerged. It was born on a small scale, hand in hand with the donation of trees that were obtained in a network of local plant nurseries. It started with 60,000 forest plants that were destined for reforestation programs in the area in 2013. Today we have almost 200,000 forest plants that will be planted in the 2014-2015 reforestation program in programs for 2015-2016.

Organic Fertilizer Production

The compost or organic fertilizer that is produced in COMASA, is obtained from compounds that were part of products of plant origin such as peanut shells, lombrihumus cultivation and other plant waste; It is in itself a magnificent compost for the land, managing to greatly reduce waste and helping fertilization, soil amendment, erosion control, coatings and soil recovery.
